Galaxy Breakdown Services operates from a smallholding in the Philippi area of -/+ 3000 sqm. This is a safe, secure storage facility for vehicles. Their fleet consists of:

  • 2 Extra Heavy Trucks with Underlift
  • 1 Heavy 2 Wheellifts
  • 5 Rollbacks
  • 11 Conventional Slingback Truck

All vehicles are equipped with electrical hoist and get despatched via 2-way radio systems. Most drivers can also be contacted by cellphone. As a PDI company, they have put in place, structures for training & development of staff. Their workforce has a 'can do' approach in all aspects of their work. They are one of the few companies that has kept their workforce stable in promoting and keeping longterm relationships with their staff.

Galaxy Breakdown Services have over the years tried to break away from the stigma associated with this industry, they therefore set out to get contract work with players in the industry. Amongest their contracts are the Automobile Association, South African Police Services, Cape Ambulance and Rescue Services, City of Cape Town, Barons Claremont and various motor corporate bodies.

Even though they has all these major contracts in place, they do not forget their principles and offer the same service & treatment to the private sector, even more so as the community at large supported their business in the growing stage.

Some of the contracts include production houses for advertising. They transport vehicles for film shoots throughout South Africa they even transported vehicles to the Namibian desert for a film shoot.
